Ron is a good friend, and I credit Coburn’s personal leadership for pulling Savage out of bankruptcy and saving the brand. This rifle was manufactured in 1932 and displays beautiful floral scroll factory engraving on the sides of the receiver and has additional engraving accents on the barrel at the breech and the top of the action. Maybe I’ll keep this Savage 99, maybe not, but I’m sure it won’t be my last 99. I had it about 1980, and it was my favorite pig rifle. I'm not sure of the vintage.. maybe the late 50's or early 60s? It is unlike any other rifle on the market because it offers features no one else does; those looking for a rifle that fits like a custom-made firearm should look no further than the Benelli Lupo. A design truly ahead of its time, the Savage Model 99 is deadly on deer, and it can command quite a bit of value on the open market. From the start, this enabled the Savage design to handle more aerodynamic spitzer bullets.
